Been helping decorate the wall at Edinburgh’s newest comedy venue, the Monkey Barrel, which opened in Blair Street this weekend.
“All Join Hands” art sale with Agent Ali at the Vine Trust in Leith tonight. Contributed some art and did some projecting as part of Guerrilla Projections. Tried projecting across the water to the hull of the orange ship but didn’t factor in the powerful harbour lights (which aren’t on during the day and not obvious) pointing straight back at the projector. I also couldn’t get closer due to the water so couldn’t narrow the focus enough to just hit the hull – meaning half the image was lost above the hull or water. But it worked OK on the bus side as an alternative.
Nice weather, lovely people, beautiful art and a great night. Thank you Agent Ali x
cycled the Guerilla Projections trike up to St. Margarets House and joined in the Too Much Fun Club and ECC – Last Minute Live Art – A Collaboration with the Edinburgh Collage Collective. a live drawing event which St Margarets House and Tom let me set up the trike – after carrying it up 4 flights of stairs (thanks Tom) – to show some of the TMFC other live drawing events and I got to do some drawing with a bunch of very talented artists. fun night and met some ace people.
today has been a busy day at Leith’s Outdoor Gallery, with a nasty clean up first thing, sun and showers, lots of lovely people and a sale. one of my pictures is heading to Poland and a new contemporary gallery, thank you Sebastian.
we are also honouring a man who does not get enough recognition in Edinburgh, Ebenezer McRae. Come and visit to find out more about him . . .
the joys of running a fringe venue and the morning clean up . . . boak!
One of Edinburgh’s great architects has been rediscovered at Leith Walk Studios, Ebenezer McRae. The studios are housed in the last remnants of the old Edinburgh Trams Department – the headquarters and main trams garage. These are due for demolition by Edinburgh City Council but the spirit of Ebenezer haunts the alley and wants to see his heritage preserved.
Come visit and learn more about this great man – Leith Walk Studios, 165a Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 8NR
so I had a visit from the council lackeys yesterday who cautioned me for putting up images on public buildings. there is one in particular that both Out of the Blue and Edinburgh Council feel is misogynist. so today she was covered up.
the previous censoring was deemed “not sufficient”.
